tiny paper boats

today while tinkering ...i came across the tiny tiny paper boats that my friend Inger sent me from Norway... they were made by her little sons and they are the smallest paper boats i have ever ever seen .. they are not more than a centimetre long and in fact some are about 4mm long ....

so today was "my day" and i decided to pull out the pinhole camera and make some little boat sets ... the above images are the polaroids ... i shot also 5x4 sheet film and look forward to seeing it ... each image took around an hour to expose

they are quite beautiful

the making of Alice's white rabbit

i have had a few people mention that they want to see how i have done this ..so i thought it maybe of interest to show the original shots used for this mysterious and slightly cross rabbit ...

the most difficult is the idea ...once the idea is there .....well.....
basically its alot of loving photography and then alot of patience cutting out each piece re-forming it ... stitching it all together and painting on all the furs one by one as they were cut off in the first chop ( or deepetch or clearcut)

so here they are ...

i guess there is about 7 different days photography here ..
and a further 4 very long days on the computer piecing my idea together

burning the midnight oil to meet my EST deadline ...

:D

white rabbits

Alice's white rabbit

"Mary-Anne !!!!!! where are my gloves...?!!!!
said the white rabbit very indignantly

I initiated this image some years ago and the European street team weekly challenge theme
(elizabethan times) pushed me to finish it

i love a bit of a deadline....

the white rabbit is dressed in vivienne westwood vest,
ruff from the sartoria of theatre of la Scala Milano,
jacket minus sleeves by valentino...
top hat unknown

he's a very stylish boy

it has taken many many hours of post production and alot of photography of just the right things ...

but i do love him ...

and unbeknown to me ...yesterday when i finally finished him and listed him in my esty gallery it was the first of the month ....
and you must always say "white rabbits" on the first of the month for luck :)

so not only is he a very stylish boy he is a very auspicious boy too...

i really like his black and white toned version ...of which i am keeping the number 1 of the edition for myself this time
both rabbits can be found here as limited edition prints
